Labor Support

The birth of a child is a unique and challenging time in a family's life. Our role as doulas is to support you in having an empowering, safe and satisfying experience.

Our birth package includes informational, emotional and physical support prenatally, throughout your labor and delivery, and just after the birth.

We look forward to meeting you for a free consultation to explore your needs .

We offer several prenatal sessions to explore how to best support you physically and emotionally and make information accessible to you, so that you understand hospital and birth center protocol and can effectively communicate with medical staff and advocate for yourself and your baby.

We help you write a birth plan and coach you in how use it to support your preferences.

We offer:

• massage
• Counter pressure, acupressure
• Guided visualization and breathing techniques
• Hot pack and cold packs
• Aromatherapy
• We help you change position to assist in fetal descent and increased comfort
• We offer suggestions for speeding a slowed labor and inducing a shy labor without drugs
• We facilitate communication with the medical staff but never speak for you
• We assist with breastfeeding
• We take photographs of your new family
• And keep a personal record of the story of your birth

We come to your home after the birth to celebrate you and your baby and, if you haven't arranged for POSTPARTUM CARE we introduce wraps and slings, review breastfeeding, baby cues and care of your postpartum body.
